Here for sale is my 2008 Volvo C70 hardtop convertible with the very desirable 2. 4ltr 5 cylinder D5 engine, providing excellent fuel economy at well over 50mpg on a long run. It's a high mileage hero at nearly 215, 000 miles and has served me well in my 5 years of ownership.
I am only the 3rd owner in its 17-year history, the first owner being Volvo themselves, I believe, for several months, before transferring to its second owner (an architect for the NHS) who spent a lot of money on the mechanical upkeep of this Volvo, with many dealer bills entering four figures. He kept the car for 12 years before it came into my hands in February 2020 and has been my daily car ever since.
The history file is extensive. Receipts for everything ever purchased. All belts done in 2021.
Full service history, comes with a very long MOT, valid until March 2026.
Before any test drives are granted, any potential purchaser must be prepared to show a valid driving licence and proof of fully comprehensive temporary insurance (available very cheaply through various outlets).

The interior presents remarkably well for a vehicle of this age and mileage, with only small amounts of wear and tear and an appealing patina on the supple and supremely comfortable black haverdal leather drivers' seat.

Bad points:
-It has age related blemishes as it is 17 years old and has given nearly 215, 000 miles worth of smiles!
-1 key (will come with 2 but one doesn't work)
-Air con not operational but not bothered me as I usually have the roof down (needs new condenser)
-Gearknob was replaced with a 5 speed one, not a 6 speed, by accident! Obviously it is still a 6 speed gearbox, just has the wrong knob.
-Yellow button in boot does not work, common Hall Sensor 3 fault that I have not ever felt the need to rectify. Otherwise the roof works well and as it should. I bought this car in 2020 at over 170, 000 miles, as I needed something economical and with a big boot and more space to carry items than my previous car. The high mileage appealed to me as I knew the reliability of these engines was very good. It can carry 4 people with ease. The folding metal roof is the real party trick, turning heads wherever it goes. I loved its elegant lines, and the Tony Banks stainless exhaust system really gives the D5 a wonderful deep burble that makes driving it a pleasure.
