Description
1975 Mercedes 450 SEL W116 6. 9 in Magnetite Blue, with matching blue trim. Left Hand Drive.
A highly original car. Always dry stored in my ownership. It runs and drives beautifully. Superb factory original condition inside and out which is testament to the high quality finish and engineering at Mercedes Benz in the 1970's. The 6. 9 was a flagship car for MB and it shows. It's been used sparingly in my ownership. Being the fastest production saloon in period it is a pleasure to drive with mountains of low down torque from that enlarged 6. 9 V8 and a ride and performance that belies its LWB chassis.
The Magnetite blue is stunning and I think one of the best colours for a 6. 9. I've owned the car for 29 years but the majority of the mileage was prior. Used as a cross continental express, the car spent a lot of time in Monaco. What a way to travel! There are a couple of sun related cosmetic jobs from its time in Monaco, like the paint fade on the sunroof and parcel shelf fabric, but beyond that it is ready to enjoy. It does need a new stereo as someone pinched it whilst in storage.
