Description
With a heavy heart, I’m putting my beloved Citroën 2CV Dolly, “Sebastian,” up for sale.
My very first car, bought over 20 years ago from The Chevronic Centre, it has been meticulously cared for by them throughout my ownership. Shortly after purchasing, it underwent a restoration including new floors, sills, chassis, and all the usual essentials—remarkably, all of which are still holding up in good condition after all these years.
Sebastian has been a joy to own—reliable, characterful, and full of charm. With 150, 000 miles on the clock and just three previous owners, it has plenty of stories to tell. For the past six years, it has been kept in dry storage, yet with a fresh battery, it fired up as if it had never been away. I have just carried out a service to get it roadworthy again, including fitting brand-new Michelin tyres. It has also just passed its MOT and has since been in semi-regular use to ensure everything stays in working order.
During my time with the car, I added a stereo to make those longer journeys even more enjoyable.
Naturally, given its age, the car is showing some bodywork imperfections, and the seats could do with a bit of a clean—but overall, it still looks fantastic and turns heads wherever it goes. Buyers should also be aware that the gearbox has a slight whine and will occasionally pop out of third gear.
If you’re looking for a well-loved, well-maintained 2CV with character and history, Sebastian could be the one for you.
