Description
TRIUMPH STAG MARK 2 , REG’D OCTOBER 1975
Lovely original condition in Maple Brown with tan interior (best combination ! ) and owned by me for 15 glorious years .
119, 000 miles on original Stag V8 engine from new , rebuilt I understand at 95, 000 miles
Been in Devon all it’s life , purchased by it ‘s first owner from Triumph dealer in Barnstaple, on it’s original number plate JUO 11P (which has a value but included in the sale ). Just four owners before me, the car is a credit to them . The previous owner had the car from 1998 , he replaced the soft top during that time and told me the car was largely original when he acquired it .
It’s been a wedding car for our son and daughter ( as you can see from the photos) and has period modifications only (Lumenition and Kenlowe fan ). which is all it needs on a long run in warm weather.
Soft top and original hard top in excellent condition – the original key replacement code is still on the inside of the boot lid. Comes with bespoke dust cover .
Gearbox rebuilt and new clutch fitted just before I bought the car in 2010 ,
Recent battery , alternator , rear exhaust and repadded upholstery (Aldridge Trimming)
Carburettors rebuilt otherwise has given reliable and enjoyable service for many years .
Featured extensively in German feature film shot in Cornwall in 2014 ( photos attached)
Maintained by specialist throughout my ownership, extensive history file going back to the mid 1990’s
Comes with a huge number of SOC magazines going back many years , to the time of my first Stag in the 1980’s
Very reluctant sale but increased work and family commitments mean the car is not having the use and attention it deserves
Recent battery , alternator , rear exhaust and repadded tan upholstery (Aldridge Trimming)
The bodywork is largely original and in very good condition . the car has been garaged all its life , I understand
Stromberg Carburettors rebuilt otherwise has given reliable and enjoyable service for many years .
Very reluctant sale but increased work and family commitments mean the car is not having the use and attention it deservesI used to to own Triumph Stags before children came along , but when they went off to Uni etc . I thought the time was right to look for another one . I spotted JUO for sale in Plymstock near Plymouth , the first thing that struck me was the colour combination , which I think looks great . I went for a test drive and was smitten . The owner had recently driven to the Lake District from Devon and back without any problems in hot weather , and when I bought it he provided a fair amount of history , everything I've had done since then is fully documented
I 've loved it ever since , it starts on the button and runs smoothly whatever the weather or temperature
It's highlight was the two weddings for my son and daughter , and appearing in a German feature length drama filed in Cornwall in 2014 ( I have the link) , as a you will see from the photos .
Very sorry to see it go !
