Purchased as a rolling project in 2017, engine subsequently suffered catastrophic failure prompting me to embark on a slow gradual restoration finally completed in 2024

Following the engine failure an ex-mod 2. 25 (2286cc) petrol engine was sourced - The bottom end was then fully rebuilt by (Hallbeck Engineering, Wrexham) to include new pistons & rings, top end bearings, re-ground crank and new shell bearings, new crank main seal, new core plugs etc
Spin-on oil filter conversion…. with oil pressure adaptor/ feed leading to new Smiths oil pressure guage mounted centrally on lower dash
Reconditioned imperial cylinder head - lead free by (Turner Engineering, Surrey)
Weber carburettor conversion (original UK made Zenith to be supplied with vehicle)
Gearbox and transfer case fully rebuilt (ie stripped, cases cleaned, rebuilt with new bearings, shims, seals etc. New reverse and 1st gears)
New flywheel and starter gear ring (new old stock)
New clutch (L. O. F. Clutches) and master cylinder
Replacement like4like galvanised chassis (Richards) - correctly prepared and painted black
New bulkhead (Robert Owen Engineering) - stone chipped, rustproofed and painted
Both axle cases stripped, cleaned, repaired as required then repainted and rebuilt using new bearings, seals etc. New rear 10spline halfshafts
Front Differential rebuilt (Hardy Engineering, Leatherhead)
New swivel hubs
New brakes, incl wheel and master cylinders, brake lines, shoe springs, shoes and new front drums
New full exhaust system supported with stainless brackets
New doors with galvanised frames and anti-burst locks
New door tops and glass
New wiring loom, headlights, indicators, side and tail light units
New hi-torque starter motor (Powerlight)
New distributor (not a cheap copy) running on new electronic ignition, coil, leads etc
New parabolic springs (GB Springs Ltd) super pro bushes, shocks and rebound straps
Rebuilt seat box
New std seats (Exmoor)
Seat belt bar and new seat belts
New tub floor, strike plates, rear quarter panels, galvanised stays and galvanised tub floor supports
New front floor panels
Replacement transmission tunnel panels (n. o. s. ex-MOD)
All tub and door cappings re-galvanised, incl windscreen, bonnet frame & under seat panels
Refurbished dash top
New canvas hood and frame (Exmoor)
Snail fan stripped and powder coated then fitted with new fan motor
New windscreen wiper motor and mechanisms
Heater box stripped and powder coated and fitted with new heater matrix
New heavy duty radiator
Rebuilt steering, steering box, relay (relay shaft is n. o. s. LR) and all ball joints etc…steering geometry setup by Keith Gott Land Rover, Alton

As can be seen, this went a little further than I had originally planned.
Rebuild completed in summer 2024 when it passed an MoT for my own piece of mind even though MoT exempt. MoT expires Sept 2025

Great fun for the pub, beach or garden centre but now selling as need space for new project
Valued by a reputable Classic LR specialist in 2024. They estimated off their forecourt would likely have a sales price of circa £29500
