I have owned this car for several years, having been kept under cover in a garage, and driven frequently as part of a project. It could be loved and driven as a perfect runaround for those Sunday trips, or as a project to bring it right up to a near-mint condition.
I originally bought it as a rolling/ driving project and have put significant work, time and investment into it. It has a brand new stainless steel fuel tank, exhaust manifolds, fuel pumps, carburetor rebuild, brakes and ignition kit to name a few - I have spent well over £6000 into this car in just a few years.
Work includes:
April 2022
New ignition barrel
Rear wheel slave cylinders x2 and fitting kit
Rear brake shoes and fitting kit
Oil filter, air filter, and spark plug set
May 2022
Key and tailgate barrel replacement
Front disc brakes, callipers, and pads
Brake fitting kit and pipe caliper flex
New oil pressure pipe and extension tank
SE5 ignition switch
Master cylinder and booster tank
New exhaust manifolds (L&R), gaskets, bolts
Electrical ignition kit and wires
July 2022
Stainless steel fuel tank

February 2023

August 2024
Carburetor overhaul and rebuild.
New fuel pump and hose
This list shows substantial mechanical and electrical work, parts replacement, and general investment into the car’s restoration and roadworthiness. It is now a great little car and I have loved driving and restoring it to its former glory over the past few years.
As ever with cars of this vintage, there are improvements still to be made, which I am happy to discuss. These are just some of the bits i have yet to get round to.
Please do inquire if you have any questions - I will always give honest answers. The car is in good condition overall, having had a lot of important work done in recent years. It drives very well and feels tight on the road.
It sounds fantastic – a proper growl – and the smell of the cabin is pure nostalgia. You feel close to the machine.
Despite the extensive work that's been carried out, with a little love, this Scimitar could be brought up to a very high standard.
Selling reluctantly due to a recent move and lack of time to give it the attention it deserves. It’s a wonderful car and deserves to be enjoyed.
Serious inquiries only, please. Come see it, hear it, smell it and hopefully love it like I have!
