Rover 75 V8 in Dover White for sale, car has been off the road since 2013. I bought it last year in July at auction with the intention of getting it back on the road, unfortunately I have realised that I just do not have the time as I am currently renovating my house. Therefore it has to go.
The car was originally registered to MG Rover Group (Eng Fleet Control), therefore I believe that it was used as a long term mileage test car as it had quite a high mileage in the first year or so. I am only the third keeper of the car, with the second owner having it from March 2006 until last year. Of the 883 260s built, only 166 were Rover 75, it is believed that this is the only one produced in Dover White, which is a very rare colour for Rovers anyway. The interior is black leather with grey piping and black oak dash trim. The car is fully loaded with highline stereo (works, but screen is very dim), Harman Kardon speaker and amplifier, satnav and TV, heated seats, electric dimming rear view mirror, powerfold door mirrors, electric sunroof etc...
When I bought it, it did not run, this turned out to be a faulty fuel pump, this has been replaced and she is running sweet. Other work I have done is re-trim the headlining, fit two new rear tyres (Dunlop), sorted the sunroof drains, fitted second had front springs as one was broken, new 12V battery, sorted rear screen leak.
In my opinion, work to get it back on the road would include, but is not limited to the following items:
- Brakes (discs and pads) (may get away with this as they have cleaned up a bit when driving a short distance)
- Ski hatch cover needs replacing (or second hand rear seat back)
- Shockabsorber gaiters and bump stops etc (plus repaint)
- Full service
- Engine pulley bearings (slight whine)
- Drain rail finishers
- Bleed brakes
- Courtesy lights
- Rear view mirror
- Bonnet release cable
- Radio
- Headlight polish
- Sunroof needs looking at
- Drivers rear door will not open
- Passenger rear sill needs welding
- Front subframe needs welding
- Rear subframe looks okay, but will need a proper checking over
- Topside needs painting as the lacquer has peeled (however the car is remarkably straight
Viewing and collection from Fishbourne, West Sussex, car will need trailering as no MOT, however runs for loading purposes. I'm selling it for what I have into it at the point and just want to break even.
