Description

1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider 1600 (Tipo 101. 23)

UK Registered – BGS 934A
Location: Staffordshire

This charming Giulia Spider is a genuine 1963 example of Alfa Romeo’s beloved open-top classic, offered here as a characterful, usable car with an honest history and appealing originality.

Originally sold in Italy, this car was imported into the UK in 1994. Since then, it’s had just three UK owners. The most recent owned the car for over 20 years, using it regularly in European road events before placing it in dry storage from 2012 until recently.

Now recommissioned, the car starts, drives, and presents as a tidy, well-loved example. It’s not freshly restored — and doesn’t pretend to be — but it has that hard-to-find balance of usability and charm that makes classic motoring enjoyable.

Highlights:

LHD, Italian-delivered example

Correct Tipo 101. 23, Giulia Spider 1600

Recommissioned after storage: new front springs and Koni dampers fitted

Half roll cage supplied (not fitted)

Rally-style extras including battery cut-off and light equipment (removable)

Supplied with photos from past events and a decent folder of paperwork

Shows 67, 138 miles

The body and paintwork are presentable, with age-related patina that adds to the appeal. The car has an engaging, lively feel behind the wheel and would suit someone looking for a classic to drive, enjoy, and gradually improve if desired.

If you're after a concours example, this may not be for you — but if you’re looking for a solid, characterful Giulia Spider with history, soul, and room to make it your own, it’s well worth a look.

Serious enquiries & Offers welcome.
Available to view by appointmentI bought this Giulia Spider because I couldn’t resist its character — it’s just one of those cars that makes you smile every time you see it. It’s not perfect, but that’s exactly why I love it. There’s a real honesty to the way it drives and presents itself. It’s lively, full of soul, and exactly what a classic Alfa should be. I had plans to keep and enjoy it over the summer, but a change in circumstances means it’s time to let someone else enjoy the experience. I’d love to see it go to an enthusiast who’ll use it, appreciate it, and keep it on the road where it belongs.
