Description

Regrettably selling this 3. 4 manual overdrive mk2.
It has been owned by the same person virtually from new and has had a huge amount of time and money invested in it already.
Some years ago it was totally stripped to the bare shell and any remedial metal work was completed including the fitting of 2 new factory front wings, it then had a total bare metal repaint in metallic silver grey. The finish is still superb with what must be the best panel gap fit I have ever seen on a mk2. The underside, under the bonnet and boot are also superb. It has sat like this in a heated garage for several years now. The shell is totally rot free.
The front and rear suspension and steering have been temporarily fitted to enable transporting.
From what I can see Im confident everything is there to restore it back to show condition.
There are boxes and boxes of parts. The engine is original and turns freely by hand. I was told the engine ran superbly before it was removed, as it wasnt removed because of a problem, but to fully restore the bodywork, and I have no reason to doubt the original owner.
All the glass, instruments, wood, interior trim, wiring, all running gear, ancilliaries are all present, as I say im very familiar with these cars and it does look to be pretty much complete.
There are also many many brand new parts, too many to list here, but I have estimated it to be between 3k to 4k including lights, lamps, chrome, rubber seals, sill step plates, fixtures, fittings lots and lots of smaller parts. The interesting thing about this car is the fact its almost a one owner example. It was also supplied new by the famous Mike Hawthorns Tourist Trophy garage in Surrey back in 1967, there is the original supplying dealer warranty card with it, along with some old receipts, mots and old log books.
It also has its nice original registration number with it which is 3 letters 1E.
Original chassis plate is present.
This has great potential for someone to either finish restoring back to original spec or to put your own stamp on it, without having the enormous expense of all the body, panel and paint work.
I would love to have finished the car but health reasons are now preventing me from doing this.
Please no time wasters or silly offers thanks.
