Selling my MX5 MK1 Eunos Roadster, this is a rare S-Special Edition which is in exceptionally clean and original condition. The red paintwork is mint with no marks or blemishes anywhere, genuine low mileage of only 70k (or 113km). Everything on the car is in perfect working order, it comes with lots of extras as standard from factory. Original spot welds still present on all sills and arches, it’s never been welded or ever had any rust issues. This is a highly desirable MK1 extremely hard to find in such clean condition. Everything on the car is still original from factory, good paperwork and service history come along with it.
The S-Special model is a sportier version that came with uprated Bilstein suspension, lightened flywheel, a Torsen limited slip differential, stainless steel kick plates and rear spoiler. It has the original and stylish 14-inch BBS wheels with like new tyres and a yellow engine strut brace.
This car has no rust or corrosion anywhere, all the sills and arches are absolutely solid, remarkable to find. Long MOT till May 2026, no advisories this car does not require any attention or maintenance at all. The car has also benefitted from a recent full hot injection wax corrosion protection treatment; it’s never been drive in the rain or on salted roads during my ownership.
In 2022, the previous owner bought this car from MX5 City, a well regarded MX5 specialist, who performed a full recommissioning of the car including replacing the timing belt, water-pump, all new brake calipers and brake discs, replacing suspension bushings and components etc. A brand new Prestige soft top roof (costing £650) was fitted last year, this has the glass heated rear windscreen and is in excellent condition. Also comes with original black leather tonneau cover for when the roof is down.
Car has two sets of keys, original Eunos owner’s manual and good service history paperwork. Very reluctant sale due to moving house, this car is ready to be enjoyed over the summer or add to a private car collection. Please don’t make the mistake of comparing this car with other average examples of the MK1 for sale. The condition of this has to be seen to be fully appreciated. I’ve done my best to provide clear pictures all around the car, including the underside and interior.
Overall, this is a really desirable example of a rare MK1 model hard to find in such clean and original condition. The gearbox feels smooth and the engine drives like a new car. The steering is responsive and precise, which is a notable feature of these cars.
