Description
This late 1971 built, 1972 registered Porsche 911T 2. 4-litre is in the gorgeous shade of Gemini Blue metallic sitting on original Fuchs alloys, in LHD, with a little over just 130, 000km (81, 000 miles) on the clock (the odometer is on it's 2nd time around). It’s an „Öl Klappe“ car, built for one year only.
It was originally a US-spec car with Mechanical Fuel Injection (MFI). It’s history in the US is unknown, but it’s history since it was imported into The Netherlands in 1998 is very complete, including many photos from when it was restored between 2012 and 2014 – Gemini Blue was its original colour. The engine was rebuilt with carburettors instead of MFI, giving an increase in power from 140bhp to 170bhp according to a rolling road test included among the dozens of invoices in the history file.
I have covered a little under 16, 000km (almost 10, 000 miles) in my four years of ownership since July 2021, including a trouble-free 1900-mile round trip to southern Germany last year and a 1000-mile round trip to the Spa Classic just a few weeks ago. Prior to the Spa trip, over £10, 000 was spent with renowned Porsche specialists Autofarm on a service, replacing the worn reclining mechanisms on the seats, renewing the seat belt fixings, and work on one side of the engine.
The car is in excellent overall condition bar a couple of stone chips, the interior is excellent (although the radio doesn’t work) and it drives really nicely.
The car has been kept garaged in the time I have had it and it also comes with a cover, a slightly scruffy original user manual, a Haynes workshop manual, two sets of keys and a Porsche “Geburtsurkunde” (Birth Certificate).
This is a reluctant sale, but it’s time for a new owner to enjoy driving this lovely early 911.
