Description

Lottie is a completly renovated 1979 classic Bay Window in brilliant condition. Bought in 2015 as an abandoned project. She had languished in a partially dismantled state in a barn for several years. I am an ex aircraft technician and "Lottie" became my 5 year retirement project. I disassembled everything apart from the steering box and speedo and rebuilt carefully, using quality spares. All rust was cut out and replaced with best available panels and I built a whole new bespoke interior. She was sprayed with many coats of epoxy primer inside and out and finished in classic Marina Blue under a Pastel White top. All cavities and the underside are treated with Dynax anti corrosion wax products. She is always stored in a double skinned canvas garage. The full story is available online at - details above

Please note the underside photos are from the first post restoration MoT in Aug 2020. Lottie was a new van camper conversion by Holdsworth. The large light poptop roof, louvered window and nice retro Power Management System are some of the few items retained. The new colour theme throughout is cream/ light blue/ grey and all seating have been re-trimmed in retro vinyl. A new compressor fridge and stainless double hob/ sink unit are built in to the bespoke plywood cabinet unit sprayed in Marina Blue and topped by a nicely curved grey Formica worktop. There is mains hook up with 3 sockets plus a 12V socket and USB adaptor. Overhead there are 4 LED lights and an LED strip light over the kitchen. There is a regulation compliant, vented, sealed metal gas canister locker and an onboard water tank. 2 Rear seat belts are attached to new solid welded hardpoints and the 4 ft rock and roll bed has "anti submarine" cushion restraints. A demountable Formica table is stored over the bed for use indoors or out. A Porta Pottie lives within the removable dicky seat. Up front there are twin dash fans and a 12v socket for USB or Sat Nav. I have comfortably lived and travelled in Lottie on a couple of longer trips but she has mainly been used for days out locally. Lottie has performed faultlessly since her renovation and sails through MoT's without advisories. She turns heads wherever she goes and is constantly gets into strangers selfies. With low cost Classic insurance and zero tax she costs little and gives a lot. She needs an adventurous new owner to take her out more and do some serious travelling and if you look after her there there are decades of fun ahead.
