A rare opportunity to own one of the earliest MG TAs produced – chassis 0284 was the 32nd car off the production line following the two prototypes. This historic vehicle retains many of its original features, including the matching numbers engine (No. 1475) which was comprehensively rebuilt in 2006 with new white-metaled bearings and more (invoices available).
She has been sympathetically updated with a later TA gearbox offering synchromesh on 3rd and 4th gears, making her more usable for regular driving.
Condition & History:
Lovingly maintained and regularly driven over the past three years, she starts easily, runs reliably and offers fantastic driving experience.
Inside, the beige upholstery is in excellent condition, she comes complete with a half tonneau cover, full hood, side screens, and additional matching spare material.
The bodywork has a few minor blemishes to the paint, but is characteristic of a slightly older restoration. But she has great character and overall remaining in a very tidy and presentable condition.
Paperwork:
• Current V5
• Extensive documentation and receipts, including from the major rebuild (circa 2005–06)
. Original Number plate with paperwork to prove
A charming and very drivable pre-war MG.
