Description
I bought this rare face-lift SportBrake over 3 years ago with one family ownership and full history at only 37000 miles. It felt and looked as new! I have used it regularly to go to my French property quickly and economically. It returns over 50mpg at 80mph. Now needing a larger vehicle. It drives typically Alfa-like, sharp brakes and handling and nippy acceleration when required. Regularly maintained by specialist. MOT to end of December. Now nearly 70000 miles using no oil and no issues. The interior is still almost as new, exterior has a few stone chips on the plastics but passenger door is slightly dented by a stupid cyclist who ran away! Recently fitted with Michelin cross-climate front tyres at great expense. No obvious signs of corrosion at all. Headlight plastics as new. Air-con requires re-gassing. 2 Keys. It is utterly reliable, blessed with a minimum of complex electronics, very economical and fun to drive. Surprisingly roomy with seats folded down also. I would happily drive to South of France tomorrow without needing to fuel up. 156's have a following amongst Alfa enthusiasts that is well deserved.
