Last year, a local welder who knows these cars well performed extensive rust repairs on the car. I’ve fitted the wheels and a set of coilovers, but I still have the original daisy wheels, which do need refurbishing. I wanted to keep them as many people appreciate the original look. I also fitted a Japanese-style rear number plate panel, which I think suits the car better. New number plate lights are yet to be fitted but will be included in the sale. The car has an unbranded cat back exhaust that sounds great. The hardtop can be included in the sale for the right price, as it was freshly painted in black when the rust was taken care of. When I bought the car the rear window on the soft top was discoloured and cracked, this has since been replaced by a specialist in Middlesbrough.
The car needs a service, but I have the full kit ready to go (oil, filters, timing belt, gearbox oil) and haven’t had the time to get it done yet. The kit will be included in the sale. I also include a shifter rebuild kit to make the gearbox feel brand new again!
The car has Mk2 Heated Leather seats that do still need wiring, but they really bring up the interior and give it a much sportier look.
I also have a black mohair roof that can come with the car however it does need some work doing to it for it to be perfect.
I’m selling the car because I’m not getting the use out of it that I would like. Working shifts and having a busy schedule outside of work means drives out in the car are very few and far between, and I believe a car like this is meant to be enjoyed.
