Description
1977 Ford Capri 3. 0 Ghia in Roman Bronze with a tan roof and interior , this car has history dating back to 1988 with mots to prove the ultra low mileage, this is a very well known car in the Capri Mark 2 register and has won awards in many show events .
This car has been painted only once since the original paint was put on in the factory and still has the original radio in place with no speaker holes cut in any of the mint door cards.
Starting from the front of the car it has the very rare factory spoiler and as you see inside the engine bay it is absolutely stunning ,
I had a complete check of the engine and an overhsul
Of the brake lines and brakes last year and had unleaded heads fitted and steel timing gear by the best Essex engine builder in the UK , Chris Palmier , the car runs beautifully and is as quiet as any Essex V6 you will ever hear . It has a full Janspeed stainless steel exhaust system fitted that when tweaked on the throttle crud out a wonderful roar . It has nice power without being too much , let’s face it this is a 3. 0 Ghia and you need to cruise around in this car .
No issue ever with any thought of over heating and slips through the gears like butter .
I have always maintained this car in my ten years of ownership , I owned a 1977 3. 0 Ghia in Roman Bronze VGN777R back in 1983 and I have to say that car was nothing like this car even at six years old , this car was bought by myself as a retirement present for my father for a thank you for being a great parent but he no longer drives and the car gets use , but not enough
As you see from the inner wings this car has had a very careful and cosseted life by all the owners , I have spoke to previous owners going back to the early 90, s .
The interior is as wonderful as it was when it pulled off the production line in January 1977 , sun roof slides and tilts as it should , the underneath of the car is as good as the main body , sills are solid as are the wheel arches and tailgate .
It still has the original boot cover and bag , Chrome bumpers are mint with no issues .
The history of the car can be traced back to the original owner who I was told recently was a directors wife from Cadburys chocolate , Every previous owner of the car I have spoke to has always told me they will buy this car back if it ever comes up for sale .
There is a nice history folder with tax discs and mots from 1988 onwards and I have many photographs at the time it was painted , I believe in the mid 90, s .
The Roman Bronze paint looks stunning in the sun and will be the perfect addition to any collection or to have as a first classic .
Please do not confuse this car with any others you see for sale by dealers in the UK , it has been valued by Kevin , the Mark 2 Register chairman and I am happy for him to talk to you with any questions you may have .
In conclusion this is a very very beautiful very rare colour , I know of maybe 4 Roman Bronze 3. 0 Ghias , these have all been restoration projects , runs perfectly and looks stunning with great history and probably in the top ten of Mark 2 3. 0 Ghias in the country and all the family will be sad to see this lovely car sell .
Thank you for your time in Reading this advertOwned the exact same colour car in 1983 , so when this car was available I purchased it from long term ownership . Roman Bronze was a very rare option in 1976-77 so rarely offered for sale on the open market
