It needs to be said from the start, the pictures do not do this car justice. This car needs to be seen in person to fully appreciate the work & money gone into. Viewings will be welcomed, with serious intent to buy. Its the definition of a 'no expense spared build'. The car underwent a full nut and bolt rebuild last March. The shell is as solid as a brand new Heritage shell. Paintjob was professionally done and is second to none. Underside of the shell was done in colourmatched raptor seal. Brand new main & rear wiring loom was used.
Engine is oversized to 1293cc with new pistons, shells & bearing's throughout. Swiftune SW5 camshaft & oil pump with a Rota slide adjustable duplex gear set. Head was skimmed, ported & polished and steel valve seats installed, along with new valve springs, guides & seals. Gearbox had a full strip & rebuild, casing vapour blasted and overhauling every worn component including 4 new baulk rings, 2nd gear, and mains bearing. A Minispares Evolution Cross-pin differential was also installed & shimmed up correctly. New AP Fast road clutch. Overhauled Twin SU HS2 carburettors fuelled by an electric Facet fuel pump & and MED air cleaner. Cooled by a Fletcher twin-core alloy radiator. Accuspark electronic ignition in a new Lucas 25D dizzy.
Subframes were fully stripped, sand blasted & powdercoated. Rebuilt using all brand new polybushes, and powdercoated & overhauled components. Front top arms & rear radius arms reemed & new bearings and shafts installed and front adjustable tie bars. New brake shoes & alloy superfins fitted to rear. Completed with Goodridge braided brake hoses & new brake lines. New Evolution rubber cones & HiLo's were fitted along with new Bilstein shockers front & rear. A front disc brake conversion kit was used in order for us to downsize to 10" wheels, and MiniSport Paddy Hopkirk 4 Pot Alloy calipers were used. New CV joints on powdercoated driveshafts. Interior was soundproofed using 2mm SilentCoat, and upholstery was done by Autostitch using genuine VW GTI tartan and is brilliant quality. Brand new headlining. New moulded carpet kit with underlay. KAD Shortshifter was installed. All new master cylinders with Goodridge braided hoses. Maniflow stainless exhaust manifold and full stainless RC 40 side exit exhaust
The list is really endless so no doubt i'll have missed something. I built this incredible little car for my wedding. It’s been used 3 times and not moved since, it needs to go to a loving home where it is going to get used and appreciated.
