Description
MGB V8 Conversion Project – Ex-UK Registered V8, Solid Shell, Rover 3. 5L Engine Included
A great opportunity to finish off a true British V8 classic.
This MGB GT project is already part-way through a V8 conversion and benefits from being previously registered in the UK as a V8, making it far more straightforward to register once completed – particularly for UK or EU buyers.
The car comes with a Rover 3. 5L V8 engine, stored securely and reportedly rebuilt by a previous owner (no paperwork available), as well as a matching gearbox. The engine bay has been cleaned and painted, and the car is a rolling shell with suspension, brakes, and steering components in place.
Highlights:
- Previously UK-registered as a V8
- Rover 3. 5 V8 engine and gearbox included
- Solid, rust-free body and chassis
- Black vinyl interior partially intact
- Rolling chassis – easy to transport
This is a partially disassembled project car sold as-is. It’s the perfect base for building a lightweight V8-powered British sportscar, and the hard part – sourcing a solid body and drivetrain – is already done.
More photos available on request. Located in Denmark – can assist with shipping if needed. If you’ve ever dreamed of building a raw, lightweight British sports car with real muscle, this is your chance. The MGB V8 conversion is one of the most iconic and rewarding upgrades in classic car culture – and this one gives you a solid, rust-free platform with the right parts already in place.
I bought this car because I was drawn to the combination of classic MGB styling and the unmistakable sound and torque of the Rover V8. It’s the kind of car that turns heads at every meet – a true driver’s car with a soul. What makes this one special is how clean the body is – no rust, no major fabrication needed – just a straight, honest shell ready for the next chapter.
My favorite thing? The stance and potential. Just imagining it finished in British Racing Green or deep red, rumbling on twin exhausts, is what got me hooked.
