This classic mini has been completly Restored and has a fully rebuilt MG Metro engine/ gearbox.
Further changes included moving to a central speedo, incorporating additional gauges into the speedo binnacle and rev counter fitted, mk1 front grille, mk2 rear lights, BMW mini rear number plate light, flush fitting fuel filler cap, side repeaters incorporated in door side mirrors. The interior has new leather seats, door and rear ¼ trim panels and carpets all supplied by Newton Commercial.
The reg number has been changed to an age appropriate plate (1967). Restoration has been completed on this mini, included new front wings, bonnet, front panel, D panels, sills, rear lower panel, door skins, one door frame and many panel repairs. All panels were fitted using weld through primer. The remaining body was stripped to bare metal and treated with etch and high build primer; it was then painted using quality two pack materials and fully wax oiled.
The MG Metro engine/ gearbox were fully rebuilt, cylinder head skimmed and fully ported, new piston rings, crank mains and shell bearings, metro turbo oil pump, duplex timing chain, an MED Alloy timing chain cover plus alloy back plate, three branch manifold, electric fan, performance MED clutch and 1. 5 high lift rocker, dual valve springs and upgraded push rods all supplied by MED, with many more upgrades including the Hiff44 carburettor rebuild.
The gearbox was also rebuilt using a cross pin diff, oil centre pick up, new bearings and synchromesh baulk rings. All suspension/ subframes were completely rebuilt using hi-lo’s and 7 inch front disks with 10 inch wheels.
