Description
So if like me you have always admired the Craig Vetter styling of the X75 Hurricane (Trident) but don't have £25k to spare for an original or around £20k for a copy then this might suit you. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a unique bike
Its a 1981 T140e Bonneville but with the X75 style kit that was available years ago, the kits can still be bought at a cost of about £2000 unpainted!
The bike has been well cared for over many years by me and the previous owners. It was a show bike for many years so did not spend much time on the road, it was used to attract customers to a sales stand at shows. There is very little history with the bike as a result but its clear that it has been a show pony most of its life.
I sadly have to sell in order to spend some money on a boat that I have, otherwise I would be keeping it forever. I have spent many hours making improvements to the bike and subtle changes that I feel give it a better period look than when I bought it. It starts easily and runs perfectly.
It is tax and mot exempt. X75 style kit with aluminium fuel tank (no issues with rust therefore)
twin Amal mk3 carburettors
left hand gear change
Belt drive clutch and primary drive
Electrex electronic ignition
Gell battery (new)
Led Headlight (new)
Twin disc brake at front single at rear
Brembo callipers
Akront Alloy wheel rims
Morgo high pressure rotary oil pump
Rewired with new original harness
rear sets
New Dunstall style silencers
Led Indicators (new)
replacement front master cylinder (new)
replaced new ethanol proof fuel taps and hoses
new plugs and plug caps and coils
oil change in the last couple of weeks.
There are other Bonneville style replicas like this out there but having looked for a long time this was the best one I could find.
You are welcome to come and view the bike in Gloucestershire about 15 minutes from J13 M5. No test rides unless cash in my hand for obvious reasons, I had no hesitation buying the bike as soon as I saw it and heard it running.
I may be interested in part exchange for a standard T140 Bonneville left hand gear change of lower value that maybe needs work.
