Description
A beautiful example of a 1976 Chevrolet Camaro, finished in a dark metallic brown with a brown and tan interior. This example is in great condition all around. Fitted with a lovely GM ZZ4 engine with a Holley 600CFM 4-barrel carburettor which runs super smoothly and starts first time with no issues. Imported to the UK in 2019 and driven only in dry weather, it has been well looked after and received extensive work over it’s time in the UK. If you want a guaranteed head turner that drives great and sounds like peak 70s American engineering, this is the car.
Receipts and paperwork for in excess of £10, 000 worth of work provided with the car. Two rare dealer workshop manuals, import paperwork and American title document also included.
External bodywork is rust-free and in exceptional condition considering it’s age with no major damage or signs of ageing. It does have a small dint where a previous owner has lowered the bonnet and hit the air filter but this has been managed and no major rust has formed.
Interior is in good condition with new seat covers on front seats with functioning seatbelts on both front and rear seats. Roof lining is in excellent condition and dash, rear shelf and door cards are also in brilliant condition. Slight flaking of interior bodywork at doors but very minor and easily fixed. Fitted with a retrofit radio with functioning speakers. Newly fitted dash cluster bulbs and centre column shifter bulb. Manual winding windows functioning well on both sides. Included in the sale is 6 crates of spares and parts including a variety of items for interior, exterior and mechanical parts.
Mechanically it is in brilliant condition after receiving lots of love. It starts on the button every time and runs smooth after a recent carburettor tuning. Some but not all of the work recently completed:
New single-adjustable QA1 shock absorbers across the rear.
Rear brake rebuild
New exhaust manifold gaskets
Carburettor tuning with rebuild kit included in sale
New rear sway bar fitted
New alternator fitted
Transmission mounts replaced
Dash cluster full rebuild
New front seat covers
New custom built exhaust system (sounds phenomenal and anti-social)
Issues that are present are few and far between but for full disclosure the following are present :
Tilt steering feature inactive causing looseness in the steering column but over 500 miles completed like this and it is not unsafe. I am planning to fix this should I get the time so this issue may be resolved by the time of sale.
Rev gauge, voltage and fuel gauge currently inactive due to bad earth.
Small cracking on leather around centre column ash tray.
Mileage may vary from stated figure due to still being driven occasionally. All around a wonderful car aesthetically but also to drive. It sounds brilliant, looks phenomenal and is a real head turner on the road and at events. A very rare and unique spec with all vital aspects in great condition. This was my first American car and I am finding it hard to see anything topping it so I would love to see it go to a fellow classic American car lover who will enjoy it as much as I have. Open to part-ex offers and any questions welcomed.
