Fresh bare metal respray on the roof and gutters in original Whitehall Beige. Looks fabulously shiny.
Comes with original documents, including service records dating back to the 60s, and sales documents such as optional extras etc. It even has the original spare fuses!
I bought this as a project after "finishing" my mini. The work done on my mini has given me a comprehensive understanding of all parts of a mini, and therefore a Riley Elf.
When I bought it, it wasn't running, it was very dirty, and the suspension was flat. I have restored it mechanically to the point that it now runs and drives lovely. It required a new displacer unit as one was saggy, but it now rides as it should.
I have given the paintwork and chrome a good polish, and it now glistens in the sun!
I have tried my best to keep this car as original as possible, only replacing parts I absolutely needed to. Parts replaced are as follows:
- HS4 Carb
- K&N Cone Filter
- Maniflow exhaust
- Aluminium Inlet manifold
- Headlights
- Fan belt
- Aldon distributor
- Lucas Coil
- Lucas HT Leads
- Front left Displacer Unit
- Brake & Suspension lines
- Brake Cylinders
- Brake & Clutch Master Cylinders
- Clutch Slave Cylinder
- Clutch plate, pressure plate and release bearing
- Choke & Throttle cable
- Fuel Cap
- New Fuel Pump
- New battery & Terminal connectors
- New Wiper blades
- New wing mirrors
Areas for Improvement:
- While polished and shiny, the chrome, mainly the bumpers, have rust spots. To reach concourse level, they would need rechroming.
- The paint is shiny, though there is the occasional patch of surface rust. One small dent/ scratch on drivers side wing. Dry stored since 1970. 16. 2k miles. Very original.
