Description

1983 Alfa Romeo GVT6 2. 5 Busso / 5 Speed Manual

Owned since November 1998.
2 previous local owners (3 in total).

Offered for the first time for restoration.

Very original. Super rare and quickly appreciating.

Owned for many, many years by the owner of a well known race engineering firm (co-owner of Merlyn Cars, who manufactured the iconic Merlyn racing cars to FIA Standards from 1960's onwards). It's from a good heritage!

Large history file.
51, 700 miles - I fully suggest that this is genuine, although for total transparency there are 2 x very obvious errors present on the MOT history (circa 2016 / 2017) so please make checks and be aware of this. That said, it stacks up.

Last used on the road in 2019, and very sparingly prior to this. It was driven in to the garage with a valid MOT, then quite simply life got in the way.

Mechanically, as you would expect given the owner, the car has been well maintained. No attempts have made to start it (nor will there be): It's an Alfa V6 Busso - so quite simply, it's not worth the risk. It will 100% need the belts and water pump doing properly. The fuel needs draining and new rubber fuel pipes required - at the very least.

Still has the original Magnesium Campagnolo wheels (x 5 of them) in great condition.

Interior is exemplary - stunning. Very high quality and rare like this. The carpets are basically as new, as are the seats, the one caveat being that the piping on the drivers seat velour has worn slightly (which I've photographed). The Original / Period Pioneer radio cassette is in place. The wooden steering wheel and Gear knob are also in great order and look superb. There is some staining to the sunroof headlining (yet rest assured the car is bone dry inside).

The car has not ever been messed around with in any way, shape or form.

Bodywork to be described as "good". It's certainly solid and straight - as per the pictures but is obviously not perfect. Worst cosmetic issue being lacquer peel on the bonnet, but due to the high value of the vehicle, I would imagine a new owner would thoroughly restore it. There are other marks to be looked at.

Structure is very good - but not without some issues. The front jacking points will need work (as per pictures). There is a small hole in the spare wheel well (where the spare tyre lies, it has rubbed). This is local and a very easy repair - ie. it's not rotten. Underneath is very nice overall as I've tried to capture.

It's the cheapest Alfetta GTV6 Busso I can find. Being RHD in Metallic Silver, it's a very worthwhile and rarely available project which speaks for itself. 3 owners (currwnt since 1998). Alfa Romeo GTV6 2. 5 Busso. 5 Speed manual. Very original and never messed around with. Unique project.
