Purchased to replace two of my classic Lotus, this incredible 911 Carrera Sport coupe is now offered for sale.
Finished in the exceptional period combination of Pewter metallic with a corresponding and rare Porsche Pasha interior, the Certificate of Authenticity also details Pewter coloured Fuchs and other notable factory options.
Some cars of this age may look presentable at twenty feet but this one is immaculate at two feet, one foot even. In fact, fully close up - the paint is gorgeous.
The stunning original colour was refinished following an extensive, glass-out professional restoration for a long term previous owner who treasured this car for around 26 years.
It’s testament to the quality of work that it looks this good ten years on. The detailed renovation was captured digitally and sits with the extensive history file on CD and memory stick.
Speaking of history, the car has original documentation including the book pack which confirms this 911 as a properly specified UK car. It contains the diligently stamped service history over the years, recently culminating in a visit to Tower Porsche in January 2025 where it had a full check, oil and filter, two new Michelins to the front wheels and a laser alignment plus a few other items including new brake fluid and a new drive belt.
The 117000 miles is backed up with an almost faultless recorded MoT history which is further supported with old style Certificates across 30 years.
Whilst still currently MoT’d, it’s worthy of note that this vehicle now has Historic Vehicle status with DVLA and is therefore tax and MoT exempt - it’s even ULEZ compliant.
Over 40 years, items can get mislaid but this car has clearly been cherished. The original toolkit is still present with the electric tyre pump, Porsche space saver spare etc - even the ashtray appears unused!
All parts invoices and receipts accompany the car including details of its circa £25K restoration which was completed in 2016 and the car remains truly exceptional today!
Then, there’s the drive of course. Everything you’ve ever read or watched on YouTube comes to life.
Telepathic steering, no ABS, just you and the car in a pure, unfiltered, analogue, driving experience-add to that the unmistakeable air cooled howl from the legendary flat six and you really do feel part of something quite special - these cars really are unique and it feels very tight and responsive.
And then there’s that fabulous interior - it could not be more period Porsche with the distinctive, rare, Pasha fabric and original brown dash which isn’t faded or split, teamed with dark chocolate brown carpets in superb original order.
The seats are plump and don’t sag, they’re not ripped, faded or torn. It does feel a really cool place to sit, looking out down that classic 911 nose, piloting one of the most respected and recognisable classic cars of all time.
All knobs, dials and switches work as intended with that typically Porsche over-engineered feel, with the exception of the wiper delay - I can’t seem to get that to operate.
Mentioning downsides, the drivers door check strap needs some attention but that really is about it - oh, apart from the oddly patinated exterior door handles which don’t appear to have been restored.
I thought this would really bother me but somehow it doesn’t. It just seems to add to its charm and character - a great useable car, in exemplary condition above and below.
Although it’s not quite a show queen it could be driven daily or saved for shows, club trips and picnics, or just for high days and holidays.
There are a few spares that could come with the car, including a hooligan rear muffler delete pipe from Fabspeed - check it out on YouTube - it’s loud!
If backdating a 911 is your thing then this gorgeous 3. 2 Carrera coupe could be an ideal candidate as all the serious work to body integrity is already done.
That said, it would be a shame to spoil what is ostensibly a very impressive original specification car with an amazing history and provenance.
It really does look and feel like a very special car and I’ve never been complimented so many times in one journey than when I drove it from London to home in the hills of Yorkshire where I’m surrounded by perfect driving roads.
I have loads more information if you have any specific questions or points for clarification including detailed photographs and close up pictures of the car and its history.
It has all original pamphlets, supporting period documentation including instructions for the radio cassette which was perhaps fitted very early in its life. It has spare keys, and even proper Porsche locking wheel nut keys - in fact, everything a serious owner/ collector could hope for.
Please come and see for yourself if you’re genuinely looking for a special, UK, right hand drive 911 Coupe - I doubt very much you’d be disappointed - it’s really a very special machine.
Thank you
