Hexagon Classics are delighted to offer an extremely special low-mileage 911 3. 2 Targa Commemorative Edition. The Porsche company had managed to produce 250, 000 911’s in 25 years and so decided to celebrate the milestone by producing a limited run of cars known as the Commemorative or Jubilee edition cars. Just 10 Commemorative Targas came to the UK.
All the cars featured the stunning Diamond blue metallic paint and were filled with an extensive list of standard features that were not available in standard specification cars. These options included a powered passenger seat, central locking capabilities, and a more extensive windscreen washing system. The Commemorative cars were produced in a special metallic paint with blue crushed-effect leather interiors and the seats featured Ferry Porsche’s signature embossed in the headrest.
In 1987 the Carrera range was facelifted and revised. Many of the changes over the previous iteration of the Carrera helped to greatly improve the car and the driving experience. But there was no doubting that the most significant change was the introduction of the Getrag G50 5-speed gearbox. Along with the introduction of a hydraulic rather than cable operated clutch, this dramatically enhanced the shift quality and the driving experience. The 911 is powered by an air-cooled 930/ 25 3. 2 litre engine with revised Motronic engine management that increased power output and enabled it to run on 95 octane fuel. Maximum power output is 231 bhp at 5, 900 rpm. 0-62 mph was achieved in 6. 1 seconds. The German magazine “Auto, Motor, Sport” summarized the experience driving the renewed 911 G-series, “The Porsche 911 Carrera 3. 2 offers driving in its finest form. The cockpit is a feast for the eyes, the engine one for the ears.” Today, the 911 Carrera 3. 2 is widely regarded as one of the best classic Porsches. It’s the last Porsche 911 with the unique shape of the early 911s, embodying the end of a sports car era which lasted for 26 years.
Our car is presented in immaculate and original condition. Supplied new by Charles Follett Porsche, Mayfair in July 1988, it is complete with its original paperwork file, historic MoT’s, spare keys and factory paint touch up stick.
