Description
1972 ASTON MARTIN DBS V8 – A Beautifully Presented, Well‑Maintained Example. It drives and sounds as you would expect a pure breed British Muscle Car should!
This 1972 Aston Martin DBS V8 is a superbly presented example of the marque’s flagship grand tourer of the 1970s. It is finished in Oxford Blue with Cream leather interior.
Under my ownership since 2021, the car has been cherished, maintained, and preserved as you would expect. It benefits from significant prior restoration work and continues to present as an elegant, mechanically strong, and highly usable classic V8 Aston. Exterior:
No known structural or bodywork damage.
Previously restored with new front wings and re‑chromed bumpers.
Resprayed in Oxford Blue prior to my ownership; still presents very well, with only a handful of minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with age.
Interior:
Cream leather seats and door cards re‑connolised, still supple with light creasing but no major wear.
Carpets, sun visors, and boot liner all re‑trimmed. The Headlining was re-trimmed but has slightly drooped.
Dashboard trim shows light age‑related marks.
All electrics functioning correctly.
Wheels & Tyres:
Refurbished wheels fitted with stainless steel nuts.
This DBS has benefitted from substantial mechanical attention both before and during my ownership.
Major works completed (pre‑2021):
2020 – AutoRevive London (106, 818 miles):
Brake calipers, servos, and master cylinder overhauled
New brake discs and pipes
Reconditioned steering rack
Alternator overhaul
Modified fuel pump fitted
Underside Waxoyl treatment
Gearbox oil, filter, and sump gasket replaced
2016–2017 – Camelot Workshops:
Engine oil, filters, and sidelight units replaced across visits
Air filter and fuel filter renewed
Work completed during my ownership (2021–present):
Fuel injection system overhauled
New temperature sensor fitted
Air filters and inlet manifolds powder‑coated
Wheels refurbished and new Avon tyres fitted
The car has remained in excellent running order throughout my ownership, used sparingly and maintained sympathetically.
This 1972 Aston Martin DBS V8 represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a strong, well‑sorted example of one of the fastest and most charismatic production cars of its era. With significant restoration and mechanical investment already carried out, and carefully maintained since 2021, it is an ideal companion for weekend touring, classic motoring events, or enjoyable summer drives.
A stylish, powerful, and increasingly collectible Aston Martin that continues to present beautifully and ready for use this summer!
