Up for sale is my very special Mk4 Volkswagen Golf GTI 1. 8T – a true future classic and a car you won’t see another like.
This example has had just one previous owner before me, making it an incredibly rare find in such original and well-cared-for condition. I purchased ‘Goldie’ from an elderly couple in Dunfermline who had the car since brand new. It had always been garaged and used only sparingly.
Finished in a distinctive and uncommon gold/ champagne paint (desert beige I think) with a full beige leather interior, this Golf stands out from the usual GTIs and has a timeless, classy look. The cabin is in fantastic shape for its age, with supportive heated leather seats, original steering wheel, and an unmodified dashboard.
The car has only 68k miles from new, with a clean and tidy engine bay housing the iconic 1. 8 turbo engine. Runs and idles superbly, smooth gears being paired with the manual gearbox, it delivers the proper GTI driving experience.

I am gutted to be selling it but unfortunately I don’t have any indoor space to store it after my parents have moved house and with living in the city.

Serious enquiries only – cars like this don’t come up often, I’m pretty sure this is a one off. It is a superbly cared for car which in this specification really emulates the early 2000s. Extremely nostalgic and receives many compliments from people of all ages. Will not take a lot to make this one of the best in the country. I am sure in a few years this will be over the £10000 mark. If I had a place to store it I would be keeping.
Alternatively it makes a superbly comfortable and practical daily modern classic!
