1991 Toyota Celica GT-FOUR RC
Launched in late 1991, the GT-Four RC was built to meet the Group A FIA homologation requirements for the 1992 World Rally Championship (WRC) season. A total of 5000 units were produced for the worldwide market, of these only 1800 were RC versions for the Japanese market and the remaining were sold as Carlos Sainz edition in other markets. Sainz dominated Rally in the early 90’s with Toyota making the Castrol livery wearing Celica instantly iconic
The RC features increased power from the 3S-GTE Turbo charged engine, upgraded suspension, a water to air intercooler better suited to competition use, shortened gear change and clutch pedal travel, triple cone synchromesh gearbox and vastly different front bumper and bonnet with venting to aid cooling and heat evacuation
This particular example is in fantastic condition. Finished in “Blueish Grey” metallic the bumpers are free from damage or marks, the rear arches and sills are in great condition. It doesn’t have any rust issues and is super solid underneath. You will be hard pushed to find a better example
Interior is in fantastic original condition, the seats front and back are totally free from any damage including the bolsters, they are immaculate. The steering wheel is the original and almost always missing on RC's! Still has the original 5-piece Celica logo floormats in good condition. The steering column auto-retract is also working correctly
During the last year I have spent a lot of money giving the car a mechanical refresh which includes the following, I have receipts for all work carried out:
Replacement of the Timing belt, Water pump, AUX belts and all tensioners.
Rectifiy all engine oil leaks – Valve cover gasket, Camshaft oil seals, oil pump housing gasket and o ring inc shaft seal, front crankshaft seal, Oil tube gasket and distributor o ring.
A Major service - Engine oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor arm, fuel filter, thermostat, new coolant and charge cooler coolant, new aluminium radiator
Gearbox – Replaced gearbox and transfer box oil, replace 3x driveshaft boots and driveshaft oil seals, clutch fluid replaced. Suspension – Replace o/ s front wheel bearing and anti roll bar links
Brakes – Rebuilt front and rear calipers, new brake discs and pads all round, replacement of various brake hardlines, fresh brake fluid
Majority of parts used are Genuine Toyota or premium brand
Modification wise the car is mostly original but has a few period modifications including HKS EVC boost controller hidden under the centre console, Blueflame stainless exhaust system, Raybrig headlights, PIAA front spot lamps and a set of 16” OZ Chrono alloy wheels with good tyres
Comes with stacks of history from myself and previous owners and also two keys with remote fobs. A long term enthusiast owned car, still wearing its GT4OC forum stickers in the rear quarter windows
MOT until May 2026 with no advisories
The car drives fantastically, has plenty of power and is equally happy to sit in traffic on a hot day
