Description
Capots Vintage, specialists in sports and collectible cars in Lyon, offers for sale a 1958 Jaguar XK150 SE Coupé:
The model we are offering is a wonderful British coupé from Jaguar, the XK150, unveiled in May 1957, ten years after the launch of the XK120 and succeeding the XK140. This final version of the XK line features softened lines and a windscreen and rear window now in a single curved plane.
Our model is a 4-seat XK150 SE (Special Equipment) coupé, 3. 4 L, developing 220 bhp, fully restored between 2010 and 2011. As shown by the restoration photo dossier, the bodywork was stripped, sandblasted, primed and repainted in its original colour, Pacific Blue. Ten years on, the result remains impeccable, a testament to a high-quality job.
The interior has also been completely rebuilt: Connolly leather seats, headlining, dashboard, carpets, door panels and all trims have been restored to their original configuration, in a beige colour that pairs perfectly with the navy blue exterior.
Under the bonnet, the engine and carburettors were completely rebuilt. Still equipped with the Borg-Warner automatic gearbox as at its factory launch on 26 November 1957, it runs very well. For added comfort, improvements such as electronic ignition and an alternator have been added. A four-piston big-brake kit has also been installed.
We have a restoration photo archive, invoices, and provenance materials dating back to 1969.
Photo and video dossier available on request.
