Description

If someone buys a car – it is for mobility, prestige, feeling of life or just a tool for some defined purpose. If someone buys an oldtimer, something else is going to be a part of his or her life: the history.
Naturally, old cars have no such an advanced technical properties than newer ones. They are not as comfortable, the engine output is lower, brakes are not as effective and so on. But they provide leisurely traveling, their horsepower is enough for acceptable moving and keep us safe if we respect them. And on the top of that their appearance attract attention whereever they emerge and they put a smile on people’s cheeks. Old family members start to talk about their nice age when these cars were a desired object.
A Jaguar XK150 is an emblematic product of the British car manufacturer. It was produced between 1957 and 1961. Compared to its predecessor, XK150 got a non-splitted windscreen and the wingline carried higher and more streamlined at the doors. The basic, 3. 4 litre DOHC engine produced 180 horsepower at 5750 rpm; however, from 1958 an even stronger engine was built in the car with as much as 220 hp at 5500 rpm. For safety points engineers designed for these special equipped models new disc brakes. These modifications made Jaguar XK150 one of the fastest sport cars of its era.
This car caused joyful minutes for its previous owners. Among them it is worth to mention Dean Cromwell, the „Maker of Champions”, who was the assistant head coach for the U. S. track team at the 1936 Berlin Olympics and was the head coach for the U. S. track team at the 1948 Olympic Games in London. His decision to choose Jaguar XK150 probably was not accidental.
The car offered for sale hereby was produced in 1957, it was rebuilt at by Bata Classic team (- details above). The team’s demanding job brought again a part of the history back into your everyday life. The attached photos help to make the decision.
