With the 924, 928, 944 and 968 models, Porsche marked a turning point in its engineering by introducing front-mounted engines, the opposite of the majority of its rear-engined vehicles. The 928, designed to combine sporting performance with long-distance comfort, became a benchmark. The 928 GTS appeared in the early 1990s and was the first Porsche to wear the desirable 'GTS' badge, symbolising sportiness and refinement.
Our example is of German origin (C00), equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Already regarded as a genuine collector, our model features a Midnight Blue Metallic (L37W) paint with a grey leather interior.
Reading 219, 000 km on the odometer, this 928 benefited from a full engine rebuild in 2005 at 141, 000 km by a Porsche dealer; the mechanics have covered only 78, 000 km since that rebuild. Its last owner kept it for 20 years and has always had it serviced at Porsche centres. We have its original service book, confirming delivery new on 25/ 11/ 1993 to the Porsche dealership in Darmstadt. The mileage is evidenced by the original book as well as numerous maintenance invoices. Recently, the differential lock was replaced.
Among the options are air conditioning, heated seats for the driver and passenger, a Symphony RDS radio system with telephone, an electric sunroof, and draped leather seat covers.
