Description
A man of style is recognised in the crowd without pretension ... no statement could be more distant from reality !!!
Built in the early 80s, this Land Rover Series III 109” Stage One V8 is not the typical agricultural vehicle but a piece of Land Rover folklore.
Today it wears with confidence its new skin after a recent restoration that brought it back to its origins in a colour more usually associated with a race car than with a 4×4 that moves through mud.
Coupled to the booming 3. 5-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, modified by Edelbrock, and a 4-speed gearbox it has the dynamics and speed perfect for pairing with the rest.
Recently subjected to a careful restoration/ refitting covering all its parts, the odometer (five figures) shows only 12, 503 km.
Both the chassis and the original bulkhead have been repaired and hot-dip galvanised, together with every other steel component that could have corroded over time.
Suspension components have been replaced, the braking system revised, body panels repainted after meticulous sandblasting and the floors treated to erase signs of time.
Mechanically the mighty V8 engine has been put back into service correctly, replacing the carburettors and fitting a dedicated Edelbrock kit.
Also replaced were the water pump and the distributor belt, not to mention the sporty exhausts that certainly stir the enthusiasm of enthusiasts of all ages given their customised stainless steel configuration with butterfly valves.
Soft top in black, flat-fold windscreen and a configuration of three sporty black leather front seats paired with tartan fabric and rear benches facing sideways make it comfortably usable by 9 passengers.
Other highlights include:
Aluminium gears and differential lock knobs
Powder-coated door tops in green and a wooden cargo floor treated.
Complete electrical re-wiring to modern standards
New lighting and seals everywhere
Everything works as it should: instruments, gauges, lights, wipers, and, well… this is basically it.
It’s a Land Rover — simplicity is the charm!
