1967 Originally FHC before undergoing extensive rebuild into the car for sale today. Ideal as a Road / Race car, I purchased it 2 years ago from a barn find and have gone though the car extensively with the idea of saving it.
Recommended jobs left:
Electric windows are all together but need relays working out as they go up but not down.
Roof is present but not on the frame.
Rear race roll bar present but not fitted.
I'd recommend a proper rolling road set up.
ELAN BUILD 1967
ENGINE Mk 2 Twincam 1650 cc. burns 80% 4Star Petrol 20% Methanol mix or 105 octane as available.
PF Inlet cam Cosworth Ll. Exhausticam Riper BER: Vandervell bearings. Valves: Cosworth 1. 6" inlet, 1. 35" exhaust.
Cosworth springs, caps, collets, spring platforms & cam followers.
Ported & gas-flowed by Vulcan. 11. 6:1 Compression.
Cosworth 3 5 head gasket, Bottom end built by Osselli - safe to 8000 rpm.
Hepolite Powermax pistons. Thick-wall "L" block sleeved to 85mm, hot-tanked & pressure tested. Tuftrided & balanced crank, rods & flywheel. Crank double-dowelled to flywheel ( 6 bolt ) ;
Lightened flywheel. Re-bushed small ends. A. P. competition clutch ; (- 180 b. h. p. ) with copper & Aeroquip stainless-braided line & 2 -© 70. 75" bore slave-cylinder & master cylinder.
High-pressure, high-capacity oil pump. Engine uses Castor oil Castrol R or M.
BOA distributor with contactless Hall-effect pick-up.
Each inlet tapped for Vacuum gauges. Silicone-insulated plug leads.
Capacitor-discharge ignition. Powergrip-drivé Water pump ( Cosworth )
and alternator. Ignition-timing protractor. Polished cam=-covers.
Carbs: Weber 40 DCOE bead-blasted, re-built & lacquered. Steel parts Chrome-plated. Competition air-box with laminar-flow element.
Power approx. 160 b. h. p. @ 8000 r. p. m.
TRANSMISSION 2000E gearbox with Magnesium bell-housing. Re-balanced prop shaft, 3. 76:1 "Sprint" Diff. "B, R. D," Steel drive-shaft conversion with sliding-splines & double U. J.'s. Does NOT lock-up on full-droop.
BRAKES "Kunifer" brake lines. Aeroquip Stainless-braided hoses. Brass female unions. Plumbed for dual-circuit. All callipers overhauled with new seals & Pistons, Rear pistons Stainless-steel. Silicone brake & clutch fluid. Ferodo DS11 Competition pads.
New front discs & Master cylinder.
WHEELS Knock-on Wolfrace 7" Front. 8" Rear. New Dunlop A2 Tyres.
A60H13 Front. B50H13 Rear. 768 Dry-weather racing compound.
Rally tubes. Safe for 145 m. p. h.
EXHAUST Stainless-steel 4into2into 1 manifolds, stainless-steel.
Y - piece, downpipe & silencer & clamps. Suspended by stainless ~ steel springs & brackets.
Twin Renault electric fans with stainless-steel mounting brackets.
Adjustable Electronic thermostat. New radiator with Thermistor temperature sensor. New hoses with Stainless-steel clips.
Twin "Maserati" air-horns. Wipac "Quadoptic" Quartz-iodine Headlights. Electrically-operated headlight raising & lowering conversion.
Calibrated High-accuracy Rev-counter. Stainless-steel fuel tank with filter. Electronic indicator flashers with Hazard-warning.
CHASSIS Latest-type Spyder Space-frame. Powder-coated in metallic silver polyester/ epoxy. Waxoyled. Designed for 5 speed Z. F.
gearbox or 4 speed 2000E. Z. F. gearbox mounting supplied.
2000E box fitted at present. Spyder polished, Nickle-plated front & rear suspension. Double-wishbone rear-suspension conversion. Spyder adjustable Gas-shocks front & rear,
Spyder adjustable front & rear competition anti-roll bars with rubber boots on Rose-joints. Rear hub-carriers with S4 type bearings. New front wheel bearings, trunnions & ball- joints.
Spyder alloy steering-rack clamps.
Body & Interior Elan S3 F. H. C. Special Equipment 1867.
Front & rear spoilers. Flared wheel arches. Blended in bumpers.
