1982 Marcos GT 3. 0 V6 Ford Essex (Registered 1989)
Originally supplied as a kit car, this example is particularly rare as it was assembled professionally (documentation included). It has had a professional 1st, 2nd and 3rd stage revision/ upgrade of the engine. It is one of perhaps only 130 coupe kit cars produced between 1981 and 1990; although in reality likely to be even more unusual as later models in this timeframe included a front spoiler.
Kept off the road in a dry garage for ten years before our ownership. Lovingly restored over a period of four years.
Extensive amount of work by myself, some work professionally done by Redline (Marcos experts in Hilperton). Not cosmetically perfect (i. e. not showroom condition).
Comes with an extensive catalogue of photos of our restoration, a large lever arch file of original documentation (including communication around original assembly, engine upgrades etc), and a long list of more recent improvements (see below). Unusual because although this was supplied as a kit car, this example was professionally assembled in a commercial workshop.
Absolutely wonderful car, gives you the original feeling of what driving is supposed to be like! Unfortunately we just aren't using it as we now have young children, so it needs to go to a new home. Very reluctant sale. Currently kept in a dry garage.
