Very Rare and highly sought after P6B 3500 Coach-built Estate
1969 Rover 3500 Estoura Estate Car from private Netherlands Collection A capacious engine bay had been part of the Rover P6 2000s design brief, so when Rover acquired the rights to Buicks light-alloy V8, its installation in the 2000 was accomplished relatively easily. Launched in automatic-only form in 1968, the resulting 3500 model was an immense improvement on its predecessor, the lazy, under-stressed V8 providing much greater flexibility and, in 150bhp 3500S form, boosting top speed to 120mph plus. There being no factory-produced estate car on the P6 platform, FLM Panelcraft stepped in to exploit such demand as there was, producing the Estoura from 1968 until the P6 line was replaced in 1977. It is estimated that around 150/ 170 P6 Estouras were produced in this period, most being the 3500 model, and it is suggested that only 30 of the latter survive. This example has been reimported from a large private collection of Rover cars in the Netherlands. The car benefited from recommissioning works in 2022, which were carried out by Rondel Restauraties in the Netherlands (see bills totalling Euro 5, 000 on file). An ultra-rare Rover variant. All U. Registration NOW COMPLETED with with registration number ABW601GFully recommissioned after arriving in the U. K. in September 2025 after a period displayed in a museum. Fully serviced, new fuel lines and pump, brake service, minor cosmetic improvements and rare brightwork replaced. A superb example of an extremely rare car representing an opportunity to own a piece of Rover history. Offered in excellent condition having been thoroughly gone through from end to end and ready to enter the British classic car scene.
