The Daimler SP250 Dart is one of the best sports cars of the late 1950’s and early 1960’s and with the stunning Edward Turner 2. 5 V8 engine is quicker than its contemporary rival the Austin Healey 3000. With only 2, 645 made, the SP250 is quite a rare sight on the road.
This car a B Spec. With the strengthened chassis, has had a comprehensive restoration including bodywork and all mechanicals. Flawless paintwork, re-upholstered leather interior and finished to a very high standard throughout. The chrome work is in excellent condition and there is no micro blistering or crazing which is so common on these cars. The engine is extremely smooth and well balanced. The car has also benefitted from sensible upgrades including Electric fan and rack and pinion steering and a new set of Blockley tyres. The car wants for nothing, it is ready to be used and enjoyed this summer.
Originally owned by Wing Commander Edward Pippett the car spent its early life in Kensington. The car then had a change of keeper before ending up with the previous owner for 42 years and who latterly restored it.
