1980 Austin Mini City with later 1275 engine
Tartan Red with gloss black roof.
Twin new Cobra red and black bucket seats with Cobra sliding and locking seat mounts.
Charcoal grey alcantara head lining, black door cards front and back. Cooper front seats are available but tbh they were unsafe (+£extra)
Cooper Bench in rear. Rear opening windows. Heated rear window. Heater and fan.
Black carpets throughout.
Chrome door furniture.
Springalex 3 spoke steering wheel.
3 dial centre binnacle with Speedo, rev counter and temp.
8 ball gear knob.
Later 1275 engine with single HIF44 SU carb and new cone air filter.
Gas flowed head, Swifttune cam and Minisport inlet manifold.
LCB exhaust with large twin bore upswept back box.
New silicone hoses, thermostat, fan & belt. New Sparkrite plug leads. Electronic distributor.
Newly bushed steady bars and Ultimate engine steady fitted on radiator side.
I'm told the gearbox is a Guess works built unit - it's a really smooth changer. 4-speed with synchro on all gears.
Uprated servo brakes with 8. 4" discs up front. Drums at rear.
6x12 silver Ultralights shod with brand new 165/ 60 Yokohama tyres.
Locking wheel nuts.
5mm alloy wheel spacers all round.
Gas-adjust shock absorbers on front, hi-los all round. The car sits low and corners well with good turn in.
The subframes are powder coated and in really good condition.
No corrosion underneath. All sills sound.
Rear Lucas boot spotlight, 8 slat chrome grill, leather bonnet strap, chrome dome door mirrors. Monza locking fuel cap.
White indicator lens front & rear.
Black fibreglass arches.
Lots has been done to this car so best to view.
The shell is solid. New panels added around 2012 and no problems with any of the work.
Probably needs new bumpers but the originals are serviceable. Tidy car that needs nothing doing to it to enjoy in the sunshine. Gets lots of attention from the right people and everyone loves to tell you about their first Mini.
Registered historic and Tax exempt as it's now 46 years old not that you can tell. Has been checked over by mini specialist to identify any issues and these gave been corrected.
It has had a new Speedo fitted to it and the cable wasn't working when I bought the car hence the low recorded miles.
Was rolling road tuned last year. Serviced and older parts updated to remove any age related issues.
I've owned the car three years and it's now due a new owner who can experience all its charms.
Brings a smile to my face every time I drive it!
