BluetoothThis is a unique opportunity to buy a TR6 with superb provenance, backed up by old sales invoices, MOTs and receipts dating back to 1976.
The car was maintained by TR Developements in Woodford for much of its life - iykyk.
Mileage from the MOTs held shows that the car reached 65000 miles by 1979, then slowly ticked along to approximately 80000 miles when it was subjected to a body off restoration in 1988/ 89. Since 1989 the car has covered approximately 5000 miles.
An indicator of this little use is that the chassis rails are still painted in the original blue paint, as the car has been garaged since restoration, and never used in the rain.
Being an older restoration the paintwork could use some correction in very isolated areas and the engine bay repainting if you were determined to lift the car to a serious show standard, or you could just enjoy it.
After prolonged storage in my ownership it went to a classic workshop in Essex last summer for three months of gentle recommissioning, including new discs, pads sundry suspension items, clutch slave cylinder and fitting of handlebar exhaust system and general tuning.
The car was then MOT'd and had a Kenwood bluetooth stereo fitted with phone charger and microphone all wired at the same time. It runs lovely - no sign of overheating; I completed the London to Southend SEVCC run last summer and its been tucked away since.
If I were keeping it I would refresh the carpet set and perhaps the dashboard which is the original item, other than that I would drive it if I could!
Reason for sale - I suffer from a back condition and simply won't use it enough so its time to buy a more modern comfortable classic.
I have the original handbook and most MOTs from 1978 and a stack of paperwork; you will struggle to find one with this mechanical provenance.
The value of all classics is tricky to articulate, I am comfortable asking £18000. If it doesn't sell it will just stay where it is. I will update the listing with some more pictures and details over the next few days. You are buying not only a cracking car but history and provenance that many similar priced examples simply do not have.
