Description
The Packard 250, produced by the Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan, was introduced on 24 August 1950 (1951 model year) and shares the same basic bodystyle and wheelbase as the 200, but is equipped with Packard's larger 327 cu in (5. 4 litre) legendary inline-eight engine, producing 150 hp at 3, 600 rpm, paired with a 2-speed Ultramatic automatic, Packard-exclusive Easamatic braking boost, and styled with more luxurious exterior details. Making legendary Packard prestige and luxury affordable was the 250's mission in 1951, and as this elegant, sporty convertible demonstrates, that remains true today. The 250 line consisted of the convertible and the Mayfair hardtop. Only 2, 572 Series 250 convertibles were built, making this a rare car and an unmistakable Packard presence. The brand-new 250 was designed as an affordable Packard, but everything is relative, as in 1951 it still cost the same as a Cadillac. The styling was conservative as ever, but with a handsome, rounded look. Packard 250 Convertible, year 1952. Chassis number 25792926. Colour white with red upholstery and a (new) black soft top. The Packard was imported into the Netherlands in 2013. The car is in good condition (older restoration).
