Description
For sale is my 1994 Mitsubishi GTO, a Japanese import (imported and registered in the UK in October 2003).
This is the "facelift" generation featuring the fixed projector headlights and the reliable 3. 0L V6 DOHC naturally aspirated engine, paired with a smooth 4-speed automatic gearbox. It features the advanced AWD (All-Wheel Drive) and AWS (All-Wheel Steering) system, providing a very stable and planted drive.
Mechanical & Maintenance
The car drives beautifully with a smooth transmission and no knocks or bangs. It has a full years MOT recently carried out at Halfords and is ready for the road.
Recent work includes:
Front brakes and brake pipe.
Oil filter, oil change and new air filter
Recently rust treated and undersealed in all the usual spots
The underside is good for its age, though there is some slight surface rust on the fuel tank surround, coil springs, and arms as to be expected with a car of this vintage.
Condition & TLC
The car is finished in Pearlescent White. While it is a real head-turner, it is a 32-year-old classic and could use some TLC to bring the aesthetics to the next level. There is some lacquer peel and bubbling in places, along with general age-related marks. The registration plates could do with being replaced , this is something i havent gotten around to. The cloth interior is in good overall condition.
Known Faults
I believe in being honest about the car’s condition. There are two minor electrical issues:
The blower motor only works on the "full" setting.
The cruise control does not work.
These issues never bothered me during my ownership, so I have not investigated them further. The Mitsubishi GTO is a Japanese icon that still looks futuristic today. Because this is the facelift model with the fixed headlights and the Pearlescent white top coat, it has a very modern, sleek presence on the road.
What makes this car special is how it drives. While many GTOs are temperamental twin-turbos, this naturally aspirated V6 is a much more reliable and relaxed cruiser. It’s the perfect entry into the JDM scene—you get the "supercar" looks and the legendary AWD handling, but in a package that is easy to live with and drive daily.
I have the import paperwork and a collection of receipts for work carried out over its lifetime in the UK. It has been a reliable, beautiful and mechanically sound car that turns heads everywhere it goes. If you are looking for a solid foundation that you can drive immediately while improving the bodywork over time, this is the one. It’s a big, comfortable and very cool piece of 90s history.
