1988 Jaguar XJ12 Series 3 – 5, 3 V12 – Projekt / Ersatzteile oder Reparatur – £1, 500.
The car was re-imported to the UK from Ireland in Summer 2024 (I believe it was exported from the UK to Ireland in 2020). It was received as a gift and underwent a major service, including 4 new Pirelli tyres (P5 Cinturato 215/ 70/ R 15) and a new stainless steel exhaust system. Work was done at Ranmore Engineering, Surrey at a cost of £5, 685.
In late 2025, the car suffered a sudden loss of power while driving and is currently not starting or running. The car was recovered to Surrey Jag, who undertook a service (at a cost of £1, 050) and checked compression, injectors, sensors and replaced spark plugs and distributor cap. Possible ECU or ignition-related fault according to mechanic, but no definitive diagnosis. I have purchased a new ignition amplifier (AB14) from SNG Barratt (Cost £160), which I have not fitted and will include in the sale.
This is a genuine V12 Series 3 project with huge potential for someone familiar with classic Jaguars or Lucas injection systems. Gearbox was operating correctly prior to the fault.
Bodywork presents well for age with the usual age-related marks, some rust bubbles on sunroof and left rear door/ arch. Interior is complete, wood steering wheel, wood veneer and leather seats in good condition. Ideal restoration project, enthusiast repair, or valuable donor car.
Car does not have documented service history and mileage of 85, 324 miles appears to be consistent with recent MOT history. Car will need to be recovered by new owner.
