Austin Healey frogeye 1. 0 (frog eye)
This froeye and its history are unique.
In 1972 an Englishman settled in Denmark. He chooses to take his Austin Healey frogeye with the license plate '3060 EL' with him to Denmark and has it registered on Danish plates with the black enamel plate 'CL32917' which it still has to this day. Over the years he has had other classic cars, but the frog was something very special, so he and his wife kept it until he (due to old age) passed away.
I acquired the frog from Læborg Auto in 2024, knowing that it probably needed a major service.
In my ownership, the frog has had a full review by JJR Consulting (specialist in BMC - Austin, Morris & MG). At JJR, the frog has, in addition to adjustment/ lubrication and replacement of oil/ fluids, i. a. also had the undercarriage set up with a Kingpin kit, new front springs and new Dimax Classic summer tires for the best possible grip and driving pleasure.
What is completely unique about this frog is that it is not a twisted lollipop. This frog is kept as original as possible.
It was MOT in Denmark 2023 and will not need to have new MOT in Denmark before 2031.
It is still right-hand drive - it would be possible to convert it to left-hand drive, but why would you?
It still has its original 948 cm BMC engine with 46 HP which runs like a dream. It still has drum brakes on all 4 wheels, its steel front and the interior has all the patina of a 'now' 65-year-old frog.
The frog was repainted sometime in the 60s, and has of course since then had some scratches, scrapes and some rust spots, but nothing I would do anything about.
A newly purchased hood from AH spares is included.
Another unique thing about this frog is that it comes with a folder full of ie. English paper, insurance policies/ correspondence, brochure, as well as V5 (the original English registration certificate) + V. E. 60 + the original number plate '3060 EL'.
The speed show 35486 miles but it could be more than that.
I'm only selling this frog because I have too many classic cars and don´t have time drive this one.
