Description
This is my Laverda 1200TS Mirage which is an official UK Slater Laverda import with a letter of authentication from Richard Slater of Slater Brothers who were the importers at the time.
Its had a full nut and bolt restoration including a full engine rebuild by Keith Nairn of Laverda Scozia, the best engineering service and resources for Laverda's in the UK. Since putting on the road three weeks ago its done a thousand miles , the first 500 carefully run in on Millers SAE30 running in oil and then the oil changed to Morris 20w50 Race V Twin oil for the next 500 miles... there have been no issues in that time , just tightening bolts up and its had the carbs balanced now and the oil has been changed again. The head was retorqued at 500 miles as recommended by Laverda Scozia.

Reworked Keith Nairn cylinder head, new oversize valves, guides machined oversize, unleaded seats, springs, billet cam blocks, cam blocks seats machined, dialled in cams. Keith Nairn unique head gasket. Head studs checked and all good as are all the threads.
Rebored first oversize Omega pistons and rings.
Crank checked and engine built by Keith with new chains and transmission and gear selector drum properly shimmed. Clutch built up by Keith.
Vapour blasted and properly cleaned removing balls at gallery ends and replacing.
New Mikuni rs36 carbs, Redax billet inlet stubs, rubbers, push pull cable and properly jetted.
New Witt DMC 32 ignition and fire blade/ vfr coils. Heavy duty 6 way blade fuse box. Electrics all checked and wiring is properly functioning.
Frame and brackets primed and quality powder coat. New paint in BMW Sterling silver, new tank cap, badges re enamelled. Seat base powdercoated and Eldorado cover professionally fitted. Aftermarket side stand kit, stable usable and doesn't interfere with centre stand.
Wheels coated in correct White aluminium colour, new floating discs all round, calipers powder coated and rebuilt with genuine Brembo items. Brembo master cylinders all rebuilt with genuine Brembo kits. New full Keihan stainless exhaust system, road legal version.
New Wheel bearings, new Racetec front springs, new Nitron variable damping rear shocks. New Road rider tyres front and rear, Airstop stubes, new did 530vx3 chain and sprocket conversion.
All chrome redone, front genuine stainless guard professionally polished as with fork legs and engine cases including cam cover.
New Odyssey PC 680 battery, Shindegen MOSFET RR, VDO Veratron clock and voltmeter. Oil pressure light and charge warning light enabled and wired to pressure switch and CWL intelligent box. Charge rate 13v at tickover, 14. 4v at 2500 rpm.
Comes with unfitted Racetec cartrigde emulator fork kit and new damper sealing rings, spare shocks Koni dial a ride, original adjustable handlebars in perfect rechrome, fully rebuilt original and on bike balanced Dellorto carbs with genuine Dellorto kits, airbox and rubbers, Tim Parkers green book, genuine workshop manual, factory parts book both not reprints, rotor removal tool and rotor holder, lh primary sprocket holder, genuine owners manual ( for the later bike though)

I have a video clip I can send on WhatsApp of the Mirage with the original handlebar fairing painted in Sterling Silver with red pinstripe and new original Vitaloni fairing mounted mirrors with the original newly powder coated bracket mounts. I also have the original side fairings in same paint with powder coated brackets. There's also a pair of good Lanfranconi silencers with decent chrome.
