I have listed below the original listing which has allot more info about the car.
Ford Escort Cosworth Motorsport 909 (Escort Cosworth Shell) car bought in 1995, built and then registered in 1996 as a 2. 0l Ford Escort RS2000 4x4. Does not say Cosworth on the logbook and is typical of track day cars of this period.
Before the restoration there was no rust present which shows how well it had been looked after. It was only used for a 2 year period so to be expected. So peace of mind there will be no future rust problems like many of the well used road cars of the 90's. The motorsport shells are lighter and stronger but have no sunroof.
This car was used and tracked from 1996 to 1998 before being decommissioned as owner moved to group A. The engine and running gear etc was removed and the shell was stored. The shell was then bought by another company and stored as a backup shell before being sold again. The car was then built by Ford racing company for one of their customers with a fully built engine, new ecu, gearbox, running gear etc. The car was tested once on a track by the company that built it before the owner took delivery of the car. Unfortunately he took on some temporary work abroad that evolved into a permanent position, so the car was sat and maintained for a few years before the previous owner sold to me in 2019. His intentions were to recommission it, as back in the 90's he worked for Ford rally team but also drove for them as well, so had a deep passion for the cars, but again it wasn't time for this car, as lockdown hit and the car got put at the back of a warehouse and not touched till i bought it.
Spec of the car:
