Description

1963 RHD Karmann Ghia original UK supplied car first registered September 1963, a cool summer cruiser pleasant car to drive it exudes vintage charm and sophistication
Gets a lot of attention when out and about. 1600cc engine has plenty of get up and go, great sound from cartune tailpipes, running on flat 4 fuchs 4. 5 and 5. 5 staggered. MOT exempt, but I put it through an MOT for personal preference, MOT'd until 16th April 2027, tax exempt.

Original interior with new square weave carpets, new front and rear brakes. The Ghia has a great stance. There is a folder of historical documents which detail various purchases made by previous owners for parts etc.

I purchased the car from a collector advertised on Car and Classic just over 4 years ago, I bought it as is. The paint work is in good order but there are some minor scratches and scuffs. There is a crack in the lower drivers side wing (ref pics) it was there when I purchased the Ghia is was already present, I have done nothing with it. The doors do close well, the drivers door is flush. The passenger doors is slightly off but does close on the latch.

I just drive it from April to October, never in the rain or wet conditions.

Whilst I was out taking these pictures a bird pooped on it, I had nothing to clean in up with. It is just visible on the passenger side rear wing just under the rear windscreen. I thought I'd mention it as it is not a scratch or damage to the paintwork. I purchased the Ghia as it has always been a car I wanted to own, I have fulfilled that dream. Now has come the time to let next custodian to experience the pleasure of owning a Karmann Ghia. The Ghia's stance, sound, lines and sheer road presence make it joy to drive. If you do not want attention then this is not the car for you, it draws a crowd when every I am out in it.

The Ghia is 63 years old and still looks great. It has been restored in the past by previous owners exactly when is not documented. The folder which came with the Ghia does contain receipts for items that make the Ghia what you see today, there are also some photos showing the Ghia as it once looked.

During my ownership the following work has been carried out (this has been done by VW Classis specialist):
 Underbody sealing and Wax oil.
 Service upon purchase, engine tuning.
 Brake reservoir pipe replacement.
 New terminals on starter motor
 Replace rear tyre.
 Had the dash clock serviced.
 Had speedo serviced and calibrated.
 New speedo cable installed.
New dash rings for speedo and clock
 Fitted new wiper switch.
