Description
I bought this car as a winter project to re-commission for the road as I thought it would be the ideal car to take my Granddaughter to her school prom, turns out she doesn't think the same.
I have done the following :-
Overhauled the brakes, wheel cylinders, hoses etc they now work.
Cleaned and repaired petrol tank.
Renewed fuel line, fitted electric pump and recon carb (manual choke).
Distributor overhauled (distributor doctor) new coil, cap and leads.
Radiator re-cored, new hoses.
Rewired with new loom (Autosparks) with indicators and trafficators.
Wheels shotblasted , powder coated and shod with new Blockley tyres.
Stainless steel exhaust.
The guy I bought it from had fitted a new clutch, big end bearings and rings.
The interior is in nice condition, no rips or tears.
The body work and paintwork are in excellent condition.
The hood is good.
The car spent many years in France where it was used as a wedding car, since coming back to these shores it has done very little mileage.
Now for the bad point***
The engine starts with ease sounds nice with a sporty rasp to the exhaust, doesn't smoke but once it gets hot there is a knock, which sounds like it is a small end or something in the valve gear.
I'm a bit to old to be pulling engines out, but if it doesn't sell I bite the bullet and do it next winter.
I 'm not open to silly offers, it's such a handsome car I'd rather leave it in the garage and look at it.
I'm based in Suffolk, give me a ring with any questions.
