Description

A beautiful and highly desirable 1972 MG Midget 1275 Round Wheel Arch version finished in a Glacier white.

Originally bought from a deceased Estate, the car had already been restored with:
A new Heritage bodyshell & respray
Engine had been fully balanced
The head converted to unleaded with bigger valves.
Branch manifold
Paired to a Toyota 5 Speed gearbox.
The front brake callipers had been replaced & braided brake hoses all round.

In my ownership the car has always been garaged and has done less than 1000 miles. In that time I have had done or replaced :
Bespoke interior – all new seat foams & covers / door cards / carpets & head rests sourced & re-trimmed.
Mountney steering wheel (original incl. in sale)
New silver on black number plates
New rear leaf springs, bushes & shackle bushes
New Track Rod ends
Front anti roll bar poly bushes
Brakes – new discs & pads up front / new rear wheel cylinders & brake shoes at rear.
Rear axle – new oil, bearings & seals.
New Brake Master cylinder & refurbished clutch master cylinder
New Smith combined oil pressure / Temp gauge.
Stainless steel exhaust back box.
Lucas battery
4x Refurbished Rostyle wheels (MG Centre)
5x New Uniroyal tyres (less then 100 miles usage)
I have probably missed other things replaced.

The 5 speed gearbox is a desirable upgrade and totally transforms the car, making driving at motorway speeds effortless.

The exterior presents superbly, is rust free with shiny chrome work. The hood is very good with no discolouration nor creasing to the windows. Wheels and tyres are practically brand new. The under bonnet is as good as the exterior and the floor etc is body colour and evidences no rust. There is no underseal hiding anything.

I am no mechanic but due to lack of use (I believe) the clutch bearing is noisy so ideally I would suggest this is changed. The car is still fully driveable though.
The car really needs to be seen to be appreciated, I don’t think the pictures do it justice. If you were to replicate the parts & work put into this car, it must surely be in excess of £20k.
I have priced this car very very competitively at £7, 800 and therefore no offers.

The MOT is due in August, so if this isn’t snapped up in the meantime I will probably get round to putting another MOT on it at some stage. The combination of the Glacier white paintwork with the two tone interior make this MG really stand out. The 5 speed conversion, is also an added bonus as this alone would cost £000's.
