Jaguar E Type 4. 2, Series 1, 2+2 Absolutely beautiful, 1966
Complete nut and bolt restoration, including a bare metal respray. This was a great base car having been a South African car (truly dry state) zero rust was found and of course an original right hand drive.
POWER
A rebuilt 4 speed all synchro gearbox
An original specification high ratio differential
Rebuilt 4. 2 litre engine with larger radiator, dual fans, upgraded oil pump and filter system.
Rebuilt and tuned SU carbs.
The car has been carefully run in covering only approximately 1, 200 since the rebuild.
SUSPENSION
The front and rear suspension has been completely rebuilt and upgraded with;
Race specification Torsion bars and adjustable Spax shock absorbers, new wheel bearings, driveshaft universal joints and suspension arm bushes.
BRAKES
The brakes have been upgraded with larger ventilated front disks and four pot Zeus callipers. The rear disks have been replaced with upgraded race spec pads.
The entire fuel system has been replaced including a new tank.
I have personally overseen a complete nut and bolt restoration, including a bare metal respray, of this fabulous, very nearly concourse, Series 1 E Type.
The photos really speak for themselves regarding the painstaking work that has been put into bringing this particularly sort after Series 1 car to market.
What the photos don't show are the subtle, unobtrusive, but in my view, essential mechanical upgrades that make this car such a joy to drive, even in modern traffic.
In summary, this is a beautifully presented, rust free car, still retaining its original panels, that has been subject to a two-year complete restoration.
The car has also been treated to a perfect blend of seamless, yet, essential mechanical upgrades and comes with two sets of keys.
In essence, a stunning series 1 E Type that goes, handles, and stops every bit as well as it looks.
