For sale is my 1981 Lotus Eclat 524 auto in champagne Gold A04 with 74k miles. I bought this car from Auction last year where it had sat off the road in dry storage since circa 1989! Now registered as Tax and MOT exempt. It’s the rare range-topping 524 specification with electric windows, power steering and air conditioning. During the last year of my ownership it’s had: Uprated gates racing timing belt, rebuilt auto tensioner and waterpump New fuel pump, filter, lines and regulator. Fuel tank inspected New Front Windscreen fitted professionally Engine and cooling system service Brakes gone through to ensure roadworthy Chassis and underbody inspection - no rust holes or fibreglass issues New battery and terminals Good points: - Car does start, stop and drive. Fires up instantly and engine sounds very healthy when in the upper rev range - Auto gearbox works great - will come with the fluid to give it a service along with the rear diff- Power steering works as it should- Paint work is original and very presentable, a few blemishes here and there (see pics) - Interior Dash is in good condition - Comes with full service history up to 45k, a folder of receipts and spare key Bad points: - It would be better to have a return type fuel pressure regulator installed (Malpassi) instead of the current inline regulator- Interior is showing it’s age and would benefit from new carpets, leather re-dye and headlining is starting to sag slightly- The AC could do with a service to get back to full function - Headlights do not pop down due to a vacuum leak somewhere by the vacuum reservoir in the cabin. This could be repaired or electric headlight conversion kits can also be sourced for these at a very affordable price- There is an exhaust leak between the centre section and downpipe - I have the gasket and copper nuts to rectify the issue that will go with the car. The car is now running rough due to this exhaust leak. Private reg included and valued at £1500. Original reg was PAU221W. Only selling due to loss of storage, otherwise would keep. £4800 Ono.
