1973 Buick Riviera
Here is one of the most strikingly designed American cars of the 1970s. The 1973 model is renowned for its radical “Boattail” design, inspired by the racing boats of the 1930s. For this reason, it has become one of the most sought-after collector cars among American classics.
This particular example has been fully restored and is therefore presented in exceptionally good condition.
It was imported from Arizona to Denmark in 2004, after which the restoration and custom work were carried out to a very high standard. The car was in good, rust-free condition when imported, but it was not in show condition as it is today.
The massive 455 CUI (7. 5-liter) engine has been rebuilt with a new crankshaft, bearings and pistons, and the block has been line-bored. The camshaft was also replaced to provide slightly increased performance.
The body was stripped completely down to bare metal and then painted with two coats of epoxy primer, black paint and three coats of clear coat, followed by wet sanding and polishing. In other words, no expense has been spared in the pursuit of the best possible result.
The car is equipped with air suspension with adjustable ride height on both axles, controlled from inside the cabin. In the photos, the suspension is shown fully lowered.
The interior has been upgraded with leather upholstery and separate front seats.
The car has a valid Danish roadworthiness inspection until October 2033.
